In the summer of 2004, Liberty Mutual introduced a new billing platform designed to tailor payroll-deduction programs specific to each client’s unique needs.

Within this billing platform, Liberty Mutual is able to:

• Customize pay calendars for multiple pay groups
  • As an example, within the same employer profile Liberty Mutual can:
    • Define pay calendar #1 for  all employees paid weekly
    • Define pay calendar #2 for employees in “Office X” paid biweekly
    • Define pay calendar #3 for employees in “Office Y” paid biweekly
       
• Calculate deductions from every identified pay cycle
  • Calendar overrides enable the system to factor in seasonal and teacher schedules, billing only upon valid pay dates
     
• Forward calculated bill amounts or the entire year’s policy premium
   
• Define bill calendar to accommodate employer’s payroll processing schedules
   
• Maintain level deduction amounts by calculating policy balance against the number of pay periods within the policy term
   
• Include multiple pay groups on a single bill, or provide separate bills for each group
   
• Structure bill content by employee name or employee identification number
   
• Enforce security practices
  • Data encryption on all files transmitted
  • Liberty Mutual does not require SSN for billing purposes
    • Masked SSN for employers who require SSN use
  • Firewalls and access lists
